Here are the top ten apps, programmes and websites I’ve found useful when managing media and keeping up with the trends.
1. TweetDeck (FREE) TweetDeck is a social media dashboard application for management of Twitter accounts. Like other Twitter applications it interfaces with the Twitter API to allow users to send and receive tweets and view profiles.

2. Buzzsumo (FREE – Pro packages available) Buzzsumo is also a great place to see which topics related to your business get the most attention. Do more of what works. I love the ease of use and the immediate value I get from using the product. I can search for terms/phrases and quickly identify content that’s performing well in a niche or with an audience.

3. Buffer app (FREE) Buffer is a software application designed to manage social networks, by providing the means for a user to schedule posts to Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin. It’s worth downloading the plugin for Chrome.

4. Chartbeat ($$$) Chartbeat is one of the tools that helps us be ‘proactively reactive.’ Chartbeat knows which traffic matters, giving you the right data, metrics, and context, so you can start building a returning and loyal audience.

5. Simply Measured ($$$) Simply Measured gives you in-depth measurement across your owned, earned & paid social media. In other words, a great analytics tool.
